Our approach
A sustainability strategy based on the opportunities within our business
Apex Transact ensures efficiency and safety in payment flows around the world. What we provide is part of the infrastructure that is critical for society and contribute to a sustainable society. This in turn requires us to take long-term responsibility for our business and for the impact of our operations on society, people and the environment. Sustainability is an integrated part of decision making in the business.
Apex Transact' sustainability framework is based on insights gained from previous performed materiality analyses. We have also carried out a climate scenario analysis where we have identified risks for the business linked to climate change. To ensure that Apex Transact' sustainability framework lives up to our stakeholders' expectations of us as a company, we also hold stakeholder dialogues. These are carried out through ongoing dialogues, interviews and surveys with internal and external stakeholders.
An industry with unique challenges and requirements
Apex Transact' extensive logistics and transport operations are essential in order to provide infrastructure for cash and other valuables that is sustainable for the long term. As an actor in transport and security, there are many ways in which Apex Transact can make a positive contribution to society, but the industry also faces some challenges. One key challenge is attaining a balance between ensuring employee safety and minimizing environmental and climate impact, for which the greatest potential is in reducing emissions from our vehicle fleet. Apex Transact plans to switch to bio-fuel and increase electrification. The current vehicles will also be replaced with lighter weight models.
There are, however, some challenges involved with electrification of the operating vehicle fleet. Strict safety standards, different safety regulations in different markets and the need for heavy armored vehicles sometimes make it more difficult to implement a broad roll-out of lighter electric vehicles. It is particularly challenging logistically to plan charging stops en route for electric vehicles without compromising the safety of drivers and valuables. Apex Transact is working closely with partners on this to develop new solutions to today’s challenges. The aim is to be a positive force for change, in both the short and long term. While Apex Transact is strongly committed to minimizing its climate impact, the safety of employees and customers must take priority and remain a central aspect of Apex Transact' sustainability work.
